Deep tech films

Deep tech makes more sense when people can see it working.

The subject may be technical, but the story has to make sense outside the lab, workshop or control room. Solvent films the people, setting and practical problem behind the work.

The brief

The first conversation is about audience, access and what should be seen. That is enough to shape a good treatment.

Questions before production

What makes deep-tech video production different?+−

Deep-tech work often depends on a real operating context: research, hardware, infrastructure, regulated environments or a technical system that cannot be explained by a feature list. The production needs to establish what the audience should understand, which facts can be shown and who can explain the work with authority.

How do you film technology that is hard to visualise?+−

The answer is usually not a generic animation. A treatment can combine the people building the work, the environment around it, the physical system or workflow, carefully chosen demonstrations and a clear editorial structure. Any visualisation should support the real evidence rather than substitute for it.

What should a deep-tech production brief include?+−

Name the audience, business moment, technical boundaries, people who can speak on camera, available demonstrations or locations, approval process, distribution channels and deadline. Those details make it possible to build a credible treatment and scope the work responsibly.

What relevant work is visible in Solvent’s portfolio?+−

The public portfolio includes Cerebionics, a brain-computer-interface company; Zero Industries, whose technology makes defence assets autonomous; and Lavoit, which builds operational intelligence for critical infrastructure and industrial systems.
